Celebrating March for Migraine 2026

A huge thank you to everyone who took part!

14th April 2026

2026 was the fifth year of The Migraine Trust’s March for Migraine challenge, where we asked our supporters to walk, run, wheel, hopskip or even row in one instance, 100 miles across the month of March.

A total of 140 people signed up to the challenge and together they raised a fantastic £12,792 which will go towards our work to support people with migraine, fund crucial new research and campaign for change.

Not only did our Marchers raise vital funds, but they also helped to raise important awareness of migraine and the impact it can have on people’s lives.

The majority of our ‘Marchers’ live with migraine themselves, many with chronic migraine, so we are particularly grateful to everyone who took on the challenge while managing migraine attacks or caring for a loved one with migraine.

Two of our ‘Marchers’, Bex and Ludmilla gave their reasons as to why they participated:

Today I completed my March for Migraine challenge!  A total of 103 miles - £394 raised so far.

I did this for my husband, Karl.

In 2017 he started having headaches that became more persistent, at the time he was very active, worked as a builder and was the most laid-back person you could meet. The doctor told him it was stress. Over the months that followed the headaches got far worse, he was having nosebleeds and collapsing at work.

He was sent for an MRI which came back clear and was diagnosed with migraine. Since then, we have tried every treatment available to no avail. Things got worse and by the end of 2020, Karl could no longer work. He has a diagnosis of chronic migraine and we are still searching to find something to help him manage.

I just keep hoping that maybe one day something will work for him, and the more awareness we raise then hopefully the more chance we have of him getting at least some of his life back.

I’m just a couple of miles away from completing my 100 miles rowing challenge this March and it means more to me than I can fully put into words.

Living with chronic migraine once felt hopeless. Exercise used to be one of my biggest triggers, and overcoming that has been one of the hardest, but most meaningful parts of my journey. This challenge isn’t just about distance it’s about how far I’ve come.

To now be in a position where I can give back, helping to fund support, treatment, and research for others living with migraine makes this even more special.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and followed along. This month has been a huge milestone in my recovery, and I’m so proud to be finishing strong.

I am forever grateful to The Migraine Trust for the work you all do!

Here’s to progress, resilience, and not giving up.

Together, #TeamMigraine covered over 14,000 miles. That’s the distance from London to Australia!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved and to everyone who donated too. As a charity, we rely on voluntary income to deliver our support, and we couldn’t do what we do without the generosity and commitment of people like you.

There’s still time to support our ‘Marchers’, and you can take a look at the official fundraising page here.
